Accessibility

The Department of Housing & Residence Life ("DePaul Housing") strives to make our facilities and services as accessible as possible for the DePaul community. Please inform DePaul Housing staff of accessibility barriers encountered, and request accommodations and information resources that will make living on campus accessible to everyone. If residents have suggestions on how to make the residence halls more accessible, please contact the Center for Students with Disabilities at (773) 325-1677.

Residents who may require additional assistance in evacuating a hall in the event of an emergency should self-identify by registering with the
Office of Public Safety at the beginning of each academic quarter. To self-identify, please contact the emergency management personnel at (773) 325-4414 with on-campus residence information (if applicable), daily schedule, and classroom information. For students with temporary disabilities (e.g., recovering from a surgery, sprained foot or ankle, etc.), call or visit the Area Office to see what level of additional assistance might be available.

Elevators

Most DePaul University residence halls and on-campus apartments have functional elevators. However, elevators may require urgent or emergency repairs. When residents are given a notification about elevator repairs, it is important for those with mobility issues or accommodation needs to self-identify with Public Safety so that Housing staff can plan accordingly.
