Applying for housing

Life in our residence halls is an important aspect of the DePaul experience. Here, you will develop meaningful friendships, explore new ideas and get involved with the university community.

If you're looking to live on campus, no date is too late. We assign students to campus housing year-round on both the Lincoln Park and Loop campuses. Please Note: Housing is available for fall, winter and spring quarters!

How to Apply

Applying to campus housing is easy. Just fill out the housing agreement at myhousing.depaul.edu. Be sure to read and understand the terms and conditions that apply to your intended academic year.

A $400 prepayment must be made in order for your agreement to be complete. If you are under 18 years old at the time of applying, you will need to fill out the parent/guardian voucher and return the form to our office by sending it via postal mail or by scanning and emailing it.

The housing agreement may be submitted at any time through myhousing.depaul.edu. To make the $400 prepayment, do the following:

  • If you are applying as an undergraduate student, visit go.depaul.edu/housingprepayment
  • If you are applying as a graduate or law student, visit go.depaul.edu/gradlawprepay
  • Students who require housing accommodations for medical reasons, including the need for a service or emotional support animal, must register with the Center for Students with Disabilities (CSD). Students who complete their registration process with CSD before May 1 will receive priority for housing accommodations. Accommodation requests submitted after May 1 will still be considered, but DePaul Housing & Residence Life's ability to grant the accommodation request will be based on availability.
  • In the housing agreement, students will have the opportunity to share their preferred campus, building, room types and roommate requests. These preference requests only provide DePaul Housing a guide to placing students into campus housing. As such, preference requests are not guaranteed nor promised to be granted.
  • If you need to cancel your housing agreement, please visit our Cancellation page for information, including deadlines.

If you wish to live on campus for the current academic year, submit a housing agreement at myhousing.depaul.edu. A $400 prepayment is not required. If you want to apply for housing for next year, please visit the Room Selection page for more information on when to submit your housing agreement and the Room Selection process.

DePaul respects the privacy of its residents and recognizes that some residents may be particularly concerned about privacy and confidentiality related to gender identity. The Department of Housing & Residence Life (DePaul Housing) will consistently recognize and respect the gender identity that students self-identify to DePaul, in good-faith.

Students may self-identify to the department if they wish to receive housing considerations regarding their gender identity, but are by no means obligated to do so. If students do self-identify and request considerations, the DePaul Housing will not require students to provide more information than that which is required of other students. Furthermore, all information will be kept strictly confidential to the best of DePaul’s ability and will only be used for purposes designated by the student. Should you have questions or concerns regarding gender and DePaul Housing’s process, please email us at housing@depaul.edu.
