Applying for housing

Life in a residence hall is an important aspect of a college experience. Residence halls are more than just rooms or places to sleep. They are places where students develop meaningful friendships, explore new ideas and get involved with the university community. Living in on-campus housing provides the opportunity to learn to balance the academic and social aspects of life at DePaul University. Residents often live on campus for the sense of community, safety and convenience.

2018-19 Agreement Information

New Incoming Students

Please check back here in October 2017 for updated instructions related to new students applying to enter DePaul for the 2018-19 academic year.

Returning Residents

Current residents interested in returning to campus housing for the 2018-19 academic year must fill out agreements before April 1, 2018, to participate in the room selection process. In-person selection appointments will happen in April for both Loop​ and Lincoln Park campus housing options.​

2017-18 Agreement Information

New First-Year, Transfer, Law and Graduate Students

You must be admitted to DePaul University in order to apply for on-campus housing. Once admitted, use the login information provided in your application acknowledgment letter from the Office of Admissions to access the online Housing Agreement. On-campus housing is on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage all prospective residents to apply as soon as possible after admission to DePaul, as on-campus housing is limited and not guaranteed.

For students entering DePaul in fall 2017, the online agreement is through your Campus Connect account. Your login and password are listed in your application acknowledgment letter from the Office of Admissions. (The DePaul University ID number is the 7-digit number of the password used to access Campus Connect for the first time—for example, D-1234567. You only need the numerical portion.) If you have lost your login information, contact the Help Desk at (312) 362-8765.

Once logged onto Campus Connect, click on Self Service under the main menu. Select Student Resources. Proceed by clicking the Housing Services link. Alternately, take the following steps: Main Menu > Self Services > Admission > Next Steps > Campus Housing. Follow the prompt under the ‘Applying for Housing’ section to access the agreement link. Once you access the link to the agreement, you will reach the ‘Home’ page. From there, click the Agreement tab. Click on the Agreement Academic Year bubble and click ‘Save & Continue.’

A $400 prepayment must be made in order for your agreement to be complete. If you are under 18 years old at the time of applying, you will need to fill out the parent/guardian voucher and return the form to our office by sending it via postal mail or by scanning and emailing it.

Midyear Housing

Housing Services assigns year-round, during fall, winter and spring. Please Note: Housing is available for fall quarter 2017! If you are interested in applying, visit our midyear housing page​. If you have questions, please call our office at (773) 325-7196.

​Roommate Assignments

Freshman and Transfer Students

For the 2017-18 academic year, roommate requests will not be accepted after June 1, 2017. Specific roommate requests may be submitted when completing the housing agreement or may be updated in Housing Connection before June 1. Roommate requests will be taken into consideration when assignments are made but are not guaranteed. As a reminder, all roommate requests must be mutual and of the same gender and class standing. Roommate requests can only be processed if you are confirmed for housing when assignments are made in June.

Returning Residents

Returning residents will choose their roommates at room selection. Agreements must be filled out before April 1, and in-person selection appointments will happen in April. ​​
