Seasonal Housing & Moving

Winter Break Housing

At the end of Fall Quarter:
  • ​Traditional residence halls close for the entire Winter Break period and residents of those halls are required to vacate their rooms 24 hours after their last final exam for Fall Quarter and no later than noon on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.
  • Students returning for Winter Quarter may leave their belongings in their room. However, once the traditional residence halls are closed, no access to the building will be allowed until the halls reopen for Winter Quarter on Monday, January 4, 2021. 
  • Residents of campus apartments are allowed to remain on campus.

During December Quarter (which is November 25 - December 18, 2020), students who require December Quarter housing in Lincoln Park must complete a December Quarter agreement with DePaul Housing. Agreements will be available by October 1 and are due by October 15, 2020. For questions after that date, please email DePaul Housing at housing@depaul.edu​. DePaul Housing will attempt to accommodate requests for December Quarter, but there are no guarantees. See the Winter Break housing webpage​ for full details. 

Winter Quarter Move-In (TBD)

Residents who are required to leave for Winter Break may return to campus housing beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2021. All residents will be asked to check in online with DePaul Housing prior to the start of Winter Quarter. 

Spring Break Housing (TBD)

Both traditional halls and campus apartments are open during Spring Break. 

Spring Quarter Move-Out (TBD)

Residents must check out within 24 hours of their last final exam, or by noon on Saturday, June 12, 2021, whichever comes first. If a resident needs to stay in their room beyond the traditional end date of Spring Quarter because of participation in graduation ceremonies, they must notify DePaul Housing of this need in writing at least 30 days prior to the end of spring quarter. Graduating seniors may request an extension with DePaul Housing to stay until noon on Monday, June 14, 2021. See more details on the Spring Quarter Move-Out webpage.

Summer Housing (TBD)

If a resident wishes to live on campus for Summer Quarter, the resident must complete a separate summer housing agreement. Summer agreements will be available from DePaul Housing and must be submitted no later than April 15, 2021. Additional rates will apply; see the housing agreement​ for rates. DePaul Housing will attempt to accommodate requests for summer quarter housing as space permits. See the Summer Housing webpage​ for full details.
