Last Updated: April 9, 2024

Lincoln Park Spring Move-Out

Information on this page pertains to Lincoln Park residents. University Center residents will receive specific information from the University Center management office in early June. It is imperative that move-out deadlines are met due to short turnover periods. Residents who do not move out on time may receive a $150 improper move fee.

If you intend to unenroll from DePaul and/or cancel housing
outside of the Spring Break timeframe (March 25-29, 2024) or well before the first Spring Move-Out date (June 7, 2024), please follow instructions on the Cancellation webpage and email housing@depaul.edu at least 72 business hours (about 3 days) prior to the intended move-out date.

Move-Out Deadlines

Current residents must check out by noon on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

  • If you are moving out prior to Spring Quarter final exams week, email housing@depaul.edu.
  • If you are taking part in graduation ceremonies and need an extension, you must notify DePaul Housing at least two weeks prior to graduation (i.e., no later than Monday, May 27). Any extensions granted would be for a Monday, June 17, move out date, no later than 12:00 p.m.
  • Residents continuing with summer housing will receive special moving instructions with their summer housing assignment letter.

Residents may sign out moving carts for move-out assistance. The cart sign-out is located in the Munroe Hall foyer (2312 N. Clifton Avenue) and carts will be available during the following dates/times for resident use:

  • Friday, June 7 through Monday, June 17
  • 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Moving Assistance

Professional moving assistance is NOT available when moving out. Beginning Friday, June 7, through 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, residents will have the option of issuing visitor wristbands to up to two (2) visitors who are actively involved in their move-out. The wristband will allow your two visitors to go in and out of the building without needing to be signed in and out each time. All visitors are required to show a valid state- or government-issued ID and have a resident present before being issued a wristband. This option may only be used once by each resident.

For on-campus residents interested in storing their belongings until the start of fall quarter, check out the Summer Storage section below which introduces DePaul Housing’s approved vendor, Storage Scholars.

Summer Storage

Before Spring Quarter move-out, on-campus residents may be interested in signing up with DePaul Housing’s summer storage partner, Storage Scholars. Storage Scholars is a vendor who provides students:
  • Boxes and supplies to pack personal belongings.
  • In-room pickup and delivery to an insured, temperature-controlled warehouse near campus for summer storage.
  • Redelivery of items directly to the student’s new room or apartment at the start of fall quarter—doesn’t matter if their new residence is on- or off-campus!
Storage Scholars is a great option for all, but especially for out-of-state or international students who return home just for summer break. To learn more about this approved vendor, including pricing, visit the Storage Scholars—DePaul University webpage:

Elevators & Access Doors

Elevators and access doors will be available in each hall during the same timeframe as the moving carts.  For halls with freight entrances (Sanctuary Hall/Townhomes, Seton Hall and University Hall), access doors will be staffed and monitored to allow for easy move out.

Parking Information

Issued visitor wristbands also include one day of complimentary on-campus parking in the Sheffield Avenue parking garage, starting Friday, June 7, 2024, through Monday, June 17, 2024. Only pre-approved seniors are allowed to move-out and access free garage parking as late as Monday, June 17, 2024. There are certain street locations that have free parking as well. Please be mindful of city metering, tow zones, no-parking areas and street signage. There is no parking available for trailers on university property.

Lincoln Park Meal Plan

After Friday, June 14, 2024, any balance remaining on your meal plan will be forfeited and is not refundable.

Common Damages & Cleaning Charges

Each room will be inspected by staff for damages and cleaning charges. If damages or cleaning issues are found, a fee will be assessed and an email will be sent to the email address you have listed in Campus Connect by June 21, 2024. To see examples of common charges, please visit our Damage Billing webpage. Please note that the list contained there is not exhaustive.

Damage assessment walkthroughs with a student staff member may be granted by request from June 7-14, 2024, during business hours and depending on staff availability.
Please email housing@depaul.edu to request a walkthrough. Walkthroughs will not be permitted on Saturday, June 15, as DePaul Housing prepares to close buildings promptly at noon. If you would like to take ownership of unit damages, please send pictures and contact information to housing@depaul.edu.
