ALEKS Placement, Preparation and Learning (PPL)

Project Description

ALEKS Placement, Preparation and Learning (PPL) is a placement application available to higher education institutions to accurately assess, prepare, and place students into mathematics courses where they are most likely to succeed. ALEKS PPL was implemented to replace our current math placement product.

Updated and enhanced preparation and placement for new students: This project was done in conjunction with the University Registrar and the Faculty Math Department to update and enhance the preparation and placement experience for students as well as the criteria for accurate placement into math courses. ALEKS PPL was set up with SSO (using Azure AD) and data integration with our Peoplesoft SIS. Additionally, updates were made to the placement testing report and the Campus Connect student placement page that identifies whether a student is exempt or not exempt from the math placement process.
