Workplace Learning and Performance

Workplace Learning and Performance (WLP) supports employees throughout their career at DePaul. Starting on your first day at our New Employee Orientation, WLP helps sets the context for your time at DePaul and then continues to support you by offering a range of professional development options and management training.

New Employee Orientation introduces new employees to the benefits of working at one of the nation’s largest private universities.

It serves as an introduction to university mission, values, culture and business practices and provides new employees with just-in-time resources to support their transition to the university and to their new job roles.

Management Foundations

This training offers managers a series of critical foundational courses aimed to strengthen skills and practices in hiring, employee engagement, communication, supervision and performance.

Staff learn about DePaul’s policies and procedures and examine and explore the legal, procedural and behavioral practices of human resource management.

Professional Development

We support development in three key ways: through the performance management process which encourages goal setting and ongoing feedback on individual performance; through training courses which advance individuals' knowledge, skills and abilities; and through encouraging the construction of individual development plans for professional growth.
