Information Services, commonly known as IS, is an administrative business unit of DePaul University that offers a broad range of technology services designed to meet the hardware, software, network infrastructure, telecommunications, and technical support needs of our students, faculty and staff. Information Services is also responsible for the maintenance and support of the university’s classroom technology, computer labs, and wired and wireless connectivity to DePaul’s network.
Information Services consists of seven areas:
Development is responsible for designing, building, testing, and supporting the administrative software applications such as
PeopleSoft, in-house custom solutions for the university and website development using the
Microsoft SharePoint application platform.
Enterprise Architecture coordinates design and optimization of DePaul’s technology systems and applications. The team maintains a comprehensive view of the university’s technology landscape and project portfolio to improve alignment with IS and university strategy and policy.
Information Services Operations, also known as ISOPS, manages the day-to-day operations of the Office of the Vice President for IS, and is responsible for department-wide HR and Financial policy and process, organizational structure, budgeting, technology vendors and contracts.
Information Security provides computer and network security assurance and awareness services.
Infrastructure maintains the hardware, network infrastructure and telecommunications systems, including administrative email and accounts for major systems. The Infrastructure group is also responsible for administering the university’s databases, PeopleSoft applications, web hosting and active directory environments.
IT Project Management Office manages and oversees projects throughout the university in coordination with other areas, offices, schools, and individuals and groups within the Information Services department.
Services provides "front end" support for technology across DePaul; from assistance with technology related problems through the Help Desk, support of the university's technology equipped classrooms, to installation and support of new computers and equipment.
