National Student Employment Week

Each year, as part of the National Student Employment week celebration, DePaul's Office of Student Employment coordinates a selection process to choose and recognize both a Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) and Supervisor of the Year (SUPOTY). These awards recognize the hard work and contributions of stellar on-campus student employees and managers.

2023 Student Employee of the Year

SEOTY 2023 Winner - Bella Cesario
Student Employee of the Year Winner, Bella Cesario.

We present the 2023 Student Employee of the Year award to Bella Cesario!

We have had numerous very capable student workers in the First-Year Program, but I think it is fair to say that Bella Cesario is an exceptional asset to our office. In addition to being ever cheerful and on top of any task, Bella has served as a friendly mentor to several new hires always addressed the needs of stressed incoming student and the ever more stressed parents with a deft and personable touch and does an incredible creative job of making bulletin boards that pique the interest of passersby. Her March decorations, for instance, not only acknowledged St Patrick’s Day but also honored Women’s History Month, I would say Bella is indispensable except for that fact that she will, of course, eventually graduate”.

2023 Supervisor of the Year

SUPOY 2023 Winner - Megan Gamiz
Megan Gamiz, Supervisor of the Year Winner, with student nominators.

We present the 2023 Supervisor of the Year award to Megan Gamiz!

As a supervisor, Megan has been my mentor in adjusting to this country as an immigrant and helped me enhance my academic and social experience at DePaul. She has demonstrated exceptional abilities in guiding and supporting colleagues and students alike. She has made time to listen to our concerns, offer advice, and provide guidance in a manner that is respectful, compassionate, and constructive.
She has taken a deep interest in learning and celebrating my culture and making me feel included in my diversity. Her communication and listening skills have been instrumental in creating a welcoming and inclusive environment that fosters growth and development."

Congratulations to all of the 2023 Nominees!
