Manager Trainings & Resources

​​​​​​​​​We encourage all faculty and staff who manage student employees to participate in OSE training modules. These trainings teach managers the most effective ways of hiring and managing student employees. We also offer additional learning opportunities through our Manager Support Network programs. You can find upcoming Manager Support Network sessions and events under our Eve​nts page​ and you can see recordings of past events below. ​This page also provides a Resource Library for asynchronous learning.

The Manager Training Modules are now in BlueSky and readily accessible for when you need them! To enroll in any modules, navigate to BlueSky. Click on the 'Me' tab and then select the Learning tile. You can find the two modules by searching 'Manager Training Hiring Student Employees' and 'Manager Training Managing Student Employees'.

DePaul GROW® (Guided Reflection on Work) is a program that helps student employees make meaningful connections between what they are learning in the classroom and what they are learning on the job. Making these connections contributes to a student’s overall success. GROW transforms a student job into a high-impact practice through intentional interventions. Managers of student employees are vital to the process, as they will be the ones to lead a series of conversations with their student employees to guide the reflection on their learning across contexts. If you oversee a student employee and have an interest in learning more or joining the GROW program for 2025-2026, please email ebanicki@depaul.edu.
