The Student Employment Professional Development Series offers a quarterly program exclusively for student employees. These programs are an opportunity to elevate yourself as an employee, & participate in learning, activities, and networking with your fellow campus employees.

Fall Forum: Unlocking Your Potential

Wednesday October 18, 2023, 5:00 - 6:30 pm, Lincoln Park Student Center 314AB

Join fellow student employees for an engaging workshop to tap into your own motivation, learn how to take initiative in the workplace, set goals for yourself to unlock your potential, and make the most out of your campus job experience this year. Get ideas and tips from Student Employment staff, have a guided discussion with your peers, and get motivated for a great year! Heavy apps and refreshments will be provided. The workshop will run 5:00 – 6:30; staff will be there until 7:00 for Q&A, as well as on-the-spot resume reviews and career advice!

Peer Tutor and Mentor Summit, hosted by The Writing Center

The Peer Tutor & Mentor Summit is a professional development and community-building event for any student who serves in a peer support role such as tutors, mentors, advisors, coaches, leaders, and others across DePaul University. The Summit is a collaborative event that focuses on the current needs of our communities and best practices. This is a dedicated space where peer educators can “Network. Collaborate. Learn." through a variety of Round Robin sessions (interactive mini-workshops), as well as through reflective activities and other fun networking opportunities.

Emotional intelligence skills are critical for building relationships and teams, resolving conflict, solving problems, leading effectively, and building resilience - all things you navigate every day as a manager of student employees. We want you to feel holistically equipped to navigate your role as a manager at DePaul. Join us this spring break to learn about the 15 emotional intelligence competencies, based on the EQ-i 2.0 assessment, and explore strategies for tuning into your own competencies to support your leadership.
