After a long, six-week break, getting back into the swing of things can be tough! As students return for winter quarter classes, here are some ways to get involved, whether they are on-campus or fully remote. Encourage your students to explore some of these options:
DeHub: DePaul student organization, events and activities portal
Your student can visit DeHub at dehub.depaul.edu at any time to learn about student organizations, events and activities on campus. They can also complete the Involvement Calculator there, which is a brief questionnaire that helps connect them to the right organizations for them. Tell them to visit today!
The DePaul Community Service Association (DCSA)
DCSA is a group within DePaul's Division of Mission and Ministry that supports numerous non-profit organizations in the Chicago area. Your student can visit their website or stop by their office on the third floor of the Student Center in Lincoln Park to hear more opportunities to volunteer and spread the Vincentian mission.

Residential Education (ResEd)
ResEd offers a number of ways for students to get involved and meet new faces all year round. They can join Residence Hall Council (RHC), a group of student representatives that work to enhance the quality of life in DePaul's residence halls and host signature events throughout the quarter. Students must attend an info session to be considered for an RA position during the 2022-2023 academic year—a great way to earn a few dollars and gain some valuable professional skills! The last few info sessions are coming up on January 6, 7 and 11, 2022. They can apply for the position on the campus job board, and the deadline to apply is 10 a.m. on January 21, 2022 !
Winter Welcome
Because classes are remote for the first two weeks of the quarter, Student Involvement has scaled back their Winter Welcome Week plans, but that doesn't mean that students can't connect with other DePaul students during this time! Student Involvement is hosting some remote events early in the quarter and a Midnight Breakfast in the Lincoln Park Student Center Atrium on January 18, when in-person classes resume.
Regardless of where your students are at the beginning of winter quarter, if they want to engage with other students, tell them to check out DeHub for remote and limited in-person opportunities. Of course, these are subject to change based on COVID-19 health and safety protocol guidance.
