The weekend includes many types of activities that allow you to explore DePaul and Chicago! You can decide if you would like to explore the campus scene, venture out for fun in the city, or a little of both.

A ticket for the Alumni and Family Weekend Brunch must be purchased separately.

Make reservations early! While there are a number of hotels in the Loop and Lincoln Park campuses, they tend to fill very quickly. Please make your plans well in advance to ensure lodging for your family.
Through DePaul's Demon Discounts program, many hotels in Lincoln Park and the Loop offer discounted rates for those affiliated with DePaul, including your student!
When you register for Family Weekend online, a confirmation will be generated for you and sent to the e-mail address that you provided. You will not receive a confirmation in the mail.
You will also receive an email the week of the event to Family Weekend to share any pre-arrival information you may need. In the meantime, please continue to check this website for any updates and additions to the schedule of events.

Yes, of course! DePaul's Family Weekend provides parents and family members with opportunities to experience their student's life on campus. In particular, we invite younger siblings to take advantage of the chance to get an inside look at DePaul University, and as prospective students, meet with representatives from Admissions and other campus offices. Given your anticipated schedule for the day, please use your best judgment in terms of bringing very young siblings along for events.
Weather during this month can vary widely -- sometimes it's unseasonably warm, and others can get downright cold. It's best to wear layers.
Family Weekend is free for all attendees! All participants are required to register for the weekend. A ticket for the Alumni and Family Weekend Brunch must be purchased separately.
A ticket for the brunch can be purchased through the Family Weekend registration site. Family Weekend participants will be able to pick-up a ticket for the Men's Soccer game at Wish Field. Students will need to bring their ID to attend the game.
Family Weekend is scheduled during the sixth week of the quarter. This is a critical time when students still working to find their place/make connections with DePaul are most in need of support. This gives you a chance to come to campus and encourage your student to get involved, take advantage of the resources we offer during the weekend to make those connections, and learn about what campus life is like for your student.
Students do not have the day off on Friday. However, there will be plenty of time for the students to spend time with their parents and there will be a ton of activities and programs to take advantage of throughout the weekend. Please be aware that your student may have exams the following week and may need some time to study or work during the weekend.
Classes operate as usual surrounding Alumni & Family Weekend. Please talk with your student before you arrive on campus to check on his or her workload for the weekend. You are welcome to attend activities with or without your student.
The Office of Student Involvement can answer your questions about Family Weekend at DePaul. If you have any questions please email us at
