At DePaul we recognize that you are an integral partner to your student's success. We are here to support you and create opportunities where you can become educated and engaged as a member of the DePaul family. Through our programs and resources our goal is to help you stay connected with the university, while supporting you as you take an active role in your student's experience. Additionally, we strive to contribute to goodwill for the university and promote appropriate roles for parents and family members within the campus community.
The COVID-19 pandemic forced many students of the Class of 2024 and students that transferred to DePaul during the 2020-21 academic year to spend their entire first year at DePaul in a remote environment for classes and activities. These students, similar to first year students and new transfer students, have never been on campus, or maybe even the city of Chicago. Yet, they've experienced some of college life--they know how to use D2L, schedule an appointment with their advisor, check their grades, financial aid and account, and much more. But, they still need to create their DePaul community and acclimate to life on campus.
Because of this, the Office of Admissions and New Student and Family Engagement are offering in-person campus tours to second year and transfer students each Thursday in July and on September 3, 4 and 7, during Welcome Week. DePaul is also planning some special events for this special population during Welcome Week, August 30-September 10, 2021. Finally, we've developed a resource list for sophomores and second-year transfer students. You can find more information about our plans for our new to campus students, as well as our planned Welcome Week events (for everyone!), here.
