Updates on University Counseling Services

New director hired, vacant positions to be filled

Student mental health and wellness is top of mind for DePaul University, and we offer a variety of support and services for DePaul students. DePaul has been offering mental health counseling and support through the My Student Support Program (My SSP) mobile app since the summer of 2021, in addition to the support offered through University Counseling Services (UCS). Now, we have some exciting updates about UCS.

A new director of UCS joined DePaul in August 2021. Tow Yee Yau, PhD joined DePaul from St. John’s University, a Vincentian university located in New York. He brings extensive experience in working with diverse populations in college counseling centers.

His first priority as director is to fill vacant counselor positions in UCS, and we are excited about bringing more staff on board to serve students soon!

UCS counseling services are offered in both the Lincoln Park and Loop locations, so students on both campuses have access to services on their campus, as well as access to My SSP via the app, from anywhere at any time.

You and your student can visit the UCS website to learn about office hours and how to make appointments, and be sure to sign up to receive DePaul’s Newsline each Friday to get DePaul updates!
