McCabe Hall

Location

900 West Belden Avenue

Building Description

McCabe Hall is dedicated to former DePaul president, Rev. Francis Xavier McCabe, who kept the university open during World War I. During his presidency, DePaul became the first Catholic university to admit women into degree-related training. Although this went against the wishes of the archbishop at the time, enrollment skyrocketed under McCabe from around 200 students to 1,500 students by the end of his DePaul career.

Students living in McCabe Hall enjoy apartment-style living. All apartments are fully carpeted and most apartments feature a kitchen, separate bedrooms, and a bathroom. McCabe Hall units are not air-conditioned but an air-conditioned lounge, technology lounge, and study room are located on the first of its seven stories.
