We are partnering with SHIELD IL to provide this testing and need you to complete the following steps to confirm your COVID-19 test:
1. Complete the DePaul and SHIELD IL COVID-19 test waiver form. There is no need to fill out the waiver form again if you choose to schedule more than one test.
2. Create an account on the SHIELD IL portal. You should have received an email from NO-REPLY@ILLINOIS.edu. If the email is not in your inbox, check your deleted items or spam folder. Follow directions from that email to create an account on the portal. Please note:
Use your local, Illinois zip code.
- If you live on the Lincoln Park campus, use 60614
- If you live at University Center, use 60605
The activation code emailed from SHIELD IL expires after 30 days, or 5 incorrect attempts, when entering information.

3. Schedule a testing appointment. You must schedule an appointment prior to each saliva-based COVID-19 test. Only choose times on Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. or Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Though the SHIELD IL portal will show a much larger range of times available, DO NOT select appointments outside of the days/times outlined above. We will continue to evaluate testing times and may adjust in the future.
4. Bring your DePaul ID with you to your testing appointment. Testing will occur at the Lincoln Park Student Center, Room 120AB. Enter through the glass doors on Sheffield Avenue. DO NOT use the revolving doors on the corner of Sheffield and Belden. Follow the signs to the set of glass doors just south of the revolving doors.
5. Test results will be delivered to the portal within 12-24 hours.
