At DePaul, Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) is just one part of a holistic student experience. Our fraternities and sororities are student-led organizations that enhance the student experience both inside and outside the classroom. DePaul Fraternity and Sorority members make up approximately 10% of the student population and are also involved in several other student organizations across campus. The Fraternity and Sorority Community at DePaul consists of 27 chapters. There are 10 male fraternities, 16 female sororities, and 1 co-educational organization. Our chapters are governed by four councils: Interfraternity Council (IFC), Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and Panhellenic Council (PHC).
Each of our 27 organizations are unique in their own way, but all offer the opportunity to experience leadership, social activities, community and philanthropic projects, and lifelong friends. Each year, Fraternity and Sorority leaders participate in over 7,000 hours of community service and raise over $130,000 for local and national philanthropies. The fraternity and sorority community at DePaul provides a home away from home for students during their collegiate years and beyond. Follow @depaulfsl to learn more about the community and to stay updated about events and programs sponsored by the Fraternity and Sorority Life community. You can also follow the individual councils here: @IFCDePaul, @DePaulMGC, @DePaulNPHC and @DePaulPanhel.
The Interfraternity Council is the local governing body that serves the 7 affiliated fraternities within the council. They strive to promote excellence in all aspects of fraternity life and academic excellence.
The Multicultural Greek Council serves as the governing body for 8 culturally based fraternities and sororities. They develop programming to unify organizations in MGC, promote higher education, provide community service, and enhance leadership skills.
National Pan-Hellenic Council is a collaborative organization of historically African-American, international Greek lettered fraternities and sororities. NPHC honors the historical spirit of community service, cooperation, cultural consciousness, scholarship, servant leadership, and unity. Our NPHC consists of 1 fraternity and 3 sororities.
The Panhellenic Council serves as the governing body for 8 National Panhellenic Conference chapters on campus. The council's vision is to promote women in leadership, diversity, scholastic achievement, and service through relationships within and beyond the Panhellenic community.
