DePaul offers many resources to support students and their families amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. All COVID 19-related resources, updates and more can be accessed by visiting the Winter COVID-19 Updates and Guidance website. Below is a list of helpful resources for students to navigate college during the pandemic:
Reporting cases of COVID-19 about yourself or someone else
If your student is experiencing or knows someone who is experiencing symptoms including a fever, cough and/or difficulty breathing, they should contact their healthcare provider immediately or reach out to DePaul’s Health Services, AMITA Sage Medical at (773) 549-7757, for medical advice.
Students who are in Chicago and plan to be on DePaul’s campus for any reason this quarter must follow the university’s protocol for reporting cases of COVID-19. (Remember, access to campus and campus buildings is almost completely restricted during the quarantine period, through Sunday, January 17, and no classes are being held on campus during this time). To keep the DePaul community healthy, students can
file a COVID-19 report about themselves or
file a COVID-19 report about someone else.
For more information on reporting cases of COVID-19, please visit this
webpage.
Travel notices and restrictions
Students who have returned to Chicago for winter quarter or who live in the city with intentions of traveling at any time must be aware of travel notices and restrictions that apply to them. Details on travel restrictions can be found
here and on the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
website. The City of Chicago also has an Emergency Travel Order that asks anyone coming into Chicago from U.S. states with significant spread of COVID-19 (which is most U.S. states) to either obtain a negative COVID-19 test result or quarantine for 10 days. Read more about Chicago’s Emergency Travel Order
here to help inform your student’s travel plans this quarter.
COVID-19 Testing and Vaccines
In a
recently published Newsline article, the university announced that it would be offering mail-in COVID-19 testing kits for students, staff and faculty who have symptoms or exposure and do not have easy access to a testing site. Students can request a kit by calling DePaul’s contact tracing team at (773) 325-3300 seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 8 p.
m. Find more information on COVID-19 testing on DePaul’s
COVID-19 Testing webpage.
DePaul is aware of the vaccines by Pfizer and Moderna that have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is following the situation very closely. All updates regarding testing and vaccinations will be shared in
Newsline and on the
COVID-19 updates website.
Student Guide for Winter 2021
The pandemic has forced us all to deal with frequent and rapid changes to our lives and schedules. As a result, students require extra tools to navigate the uncertainty of it all, which is why DePaul has created the
Student Guide for Winter 2021. This guide offers students the necessary information about health and safety guidance, guidance for specific scenarios, personal considerations and much more. Encourage your student to read through the guide this quarter and use it as a reference to address any issues they may have.
Helpful Apps for Winter 2021
Is your student planning to visit campus for any reason this quarter? If so, they are required to download and use #CampusClear, an app to conduct daily self-screenings of their health that they must present when entering any building on either campus. Read more about health monitoring and the #CampusClear app
here.
Other helpful apps include iDePaul, The Ray, Dine on Campus, D-Zone and DeHub. For more information on these apps, please visit this
webpage.
Covid-19 FAQ
Members of the DePaul community have questions from time to time about about a variety of topics, from student services and engagement to university operations, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
