Student Employment

The Division offers many positions for students and students seeking to become leaders. These positions offer an opportunity to get more involved on campus and build skills that will be transferable to a career after graduation.

Leadership Opportunities

Leadership education, development and training for DePaul University students is a priority. Student Affairs uses a co-curricular, diverse and community-based relational leadership model as our central focus.  By engaging in leadership opportunities, students will acquire and develop leadership skills they can use to provide socially responsible leadership within various professional and organizational settings. See Leadership Opportunities for more information.

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate assistantships provide graduate students in several DePaul graduate programs (college counseling and students affairs, women and gender studies, public health and others) with part-time, paid work experiences in their field of study, allowing them to expand and apply their discipline knowledge and skills under supervision.

Assistantships also allow Student Affairs professional staff to carry out special projects or other assignments that require the advanced discipline skills of graduate students.

Externships & Internships (Unpaid)

The division has a long history of inviting post-baccalaureate and graduate level students to intern within its departments. Many students fulfill their requirements for their degrees by completing required hours with one of our departments. Students have come from within DePaul as well as other neighboring institutions such as Loyola, Northwestern, Roosevelt and the University of Illinois at Chicago. If you are interested in working with one of our areas, please contact the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs at (312) 362-5680.
