Mission and Ministry’s Faculty and Staff Engagement team is open to considering programs and initiatives based on the interests and needs of DePaul faculty and staff. We are interested in your feedback. Please contact the identified staff person should you have interest in any of the following. If you have any additional suggestions to discuss with us related to faculty and staff mission engagement, please contact
Mark Laboe or
Siobhan O’Donoghue.
Affinity Groups by Religious Background/Preference:
As we consider possible mission-related community building opportunities, the DMM Faculty and Staff Engagement team is exploring interest in gathering faculty and staff with others who share a particular religious background/preference. For example, would faculty and staff of Catholic, Muslim, Jewish, Protestant and/or Non-Denominational Christian, Buddhist, or other religious or worldview orientation, like to meet each other, gather occasionally, and perhaps connect with students of that same background? If you are interested, please complete the faculty/staff interest survey accordingly, or contact
Tom Judge in Mission and Ministry.
Community Service Opportunities
Mission and Ministry’s Faculty and Staff Engagement team is considering the development of various community service opportunities for DePaul faculty and staff to facilitate a concrete way to put DePaul’s Vincentian mission into practice, as well to meet and do something meaningful together with other faculty/staff colleagues who have shared commitments. These community service options might include regular weekly or bi-weekly service with local community partner organizations, occasional monthly service opportunities, forming teams for Vincentian Service Day, or the possibility of longer service immersion trips outside of Chicago. If you are interested, please complete the faculty/staff interest survey accordingly, or contact
Siobhan O’Donoghue in Mission and Ministry.
Social Justice and Advocacy
DePaul’s Catholic-Vincentian-Urban mission and the worldwide Vincentian family call us to action and advocacy that makes it more possible for those who are poor and marginalized to thrive in our society and local communities. Beyond the direct service work we may do with those in need, the call to social justice requires attention to the larger systems which prevent people from flourishing and prevent the building of a more just and equitable society. Mission and Ministry’s Faculty and Staff Engagement team is considering ways in which shared advocacy efforts might bring faculty and staff together and help to build a mission-engaged community. If you are interested, please complete the faculty/staff interest survey accordingly, or contact
Tom Judge in Mission and Ministry.
