The University Center is located in Chicago's Loop neighborhood on historic State Street, just steps away from DePaul's downtown Loop Campus. The residence hall that is shared with other local universities, though DePaul students are assigned to common floors and units to allow our students to get acquainted and build a DePaul community. Students of any major or year in school can live in the Loop, and residents range from freshmen through law/graduate school students.
The University Center offers a variety of room types, from suite-style units to apartments. The building is equipped with amenities that cater to a wide array of student interests. In addition, the University Center is staffed with a 24-hour professional security company and the building is open for the entire academic year, including breaks. Residents also have the opportunity to stay through the summer quarter.
Life in the Loop
The University Center is central to some of Chicago's premier downtown attractions. It is within walking distance of the Harold Washington Library, Grant Park and Lake Michigan, and near a plethora of restaurants, shopping and much more. Chicago's public train and bus system (CTA) also allows University Center residents to conveniently explore what the Loop and other neighborhoods have to offer. Our Loop Campus and Lincoln Park Campus are only a 20-minute train ride apart, so students can easily get from one location to the other.
