Off-campus Housing Resources at DePaul

If your student is thinking about moving from home or the residence halls to an off-campus location near the Loop or Lincoln Park campus, you probably have a lot of questions. DePaul has some tips and resources for you as you embark on this journey.

First of all, if your student is considering parting ways with the residence halls, they will need to make that decision by April 1: Housing Agreements have to be submitted by that date in order to be considered for on-campus housing for 2018-19.

If they will be living off campus next year, they should start looking for an apartment soon: many leases are up May 1 and June 1, and they are starting to appear on the market now.

To help your student with their search, Commuter Student Affairs has partnered with Off-Campus Partners to establish a DePaul off-campus housing web page, and they've compiled a helpful Off-Campus Housing Guide. Make sure to take a look at these two important resources, and if you have any questions, email commuter@depaul.edu.

Also, encourage your student to attend the Off-campus Housing Fair on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Lincoln Park Student Center Atrium. There, they can meet with apartment representatives, learn about Chicago neighborhoods, find potential roommates and more!
