Latinx Cultural Center

A collective calendar of events is featured every year in celebration of Latinx Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15). Latinx Student Organizations, University Partners, and the Latinx Cultural Center come together to offer events in honor of Latinx Heritage Month. 

FERIA is a Latinx heritage month celebration that highlights aspects of our Latinx culture. Ferias are festivals that take place in the street and typically span for blocks. They offer space for celebration and unity among the Latinx community at DePaul. Families, friends, and community members gather to celebrate culture, music, food, and traditions.

In collaboration with: Tepeyac and Mission and Ministry

This event features the creation of Ofrendas honoring our ancestors and communities. Altars are constructed and displayed in various spaces throughout the university, their purpose is to invite all to join us in celebration of our traditions.

Conéctate (which means "connect" in Spanish) is a lunch and learn series the Latinx Cultural Center hosts in the Fall and Winter quarters to help students connect with resources at DePaul. The LCC invites various offices to come into the center, do a presentation, facilitate a conversation, or even just be in the space and connect with students.

Convivencia, Comida, y Charla (CCC) is a weekly dinner and conversation space for students hosted in the Latinx Cultural Center. Students gather to discuss various topics related to Latinidad, while they are exposed to diverse local latiné cuisine.

Commuter Care Packages is a Winter Quarter event to show appreciation for our commuter community. We provide materials for care packages, food, music, games, and activities to encourage community and belonging among commuter students. 

In collaboration with: Center for Latino Research (CLR) and University Counseling and Psychological Services (UCAPS)

Latinx Book Club is led by the Center for Latino Research with the LCC and UCAPS as partners. We pick books by Latinx authors and meet a couple of times a quarter to discuss insights and thoughts on the book. This upcoming Winter Quarter 2025 we will be reading “Krik?
