International Student and Scholar Services (ISS) issues several types of letters to support F-1 and J-1 visa holders at DePaul. Download the appropriate request form and read more below for instructions on how to request documents based on your visa type.
If you are an F-1 student visa holder, you can request most types of letters online by viewing the instructions at the link above. The following are examples of letters you may request:
Social Security Letters*If you requested a Social Security Letter, please complete the following steps on this SSN letter instruction document and view a Sample Employment Letter.
*April 2020: Please note that due to the ongoing COVID-19 response the Social Security Administration is not currently processing applications for Social Security Numbers. International students can legally be hired, complete hiring paperwork (I-9 compliance), begin work and be paid without a Social Security Number. Once the SSA reopens students should apply for their SSN and provide a copy to the university.
Use the Travel Signature/Re-Print Form to request a travel signature on your SEVIS form I-20 or request a reprint if you have lost it.
If you are a J-1 student visa holder with DS-2019 issued by DePaul University, please submit the form above to ISS. The following are examples of letters you may request:

If you are a J-1 student visa holder with DS-2019 issued by Institute of International Education (IIE) / Fulbright, please submit the form above to ISS. The following are examples of letters you may request:
Travel Signature/Re-printIf your DS-2019 was issued by IIE/Fulbright, you will need to consult with your program sponsor for DS-2019 travel signatures and re-prints.
