Project Summary:
In this GLE, DePaul students interacted with students from the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in the UAE. Students began the GLE process by completing introductory video and discussion board posts to get to know each other. This was followed up by a meeting between small groups of DePaul students and an HCT student. The HCT students were planning a virtual event, and DePaul students acted as “consultants" for the HCT students during the planning process. DePaul students provided feedback and ideas on the plans to help improve the event. During this stage, students also watched faculty video lectures from the partnering faculty member on their respective city and events in their city/country. This allowed students to gain a better perspective of the types of events that take place in the US and the UAE. The HCT virtual event occurred on April 29 and was recorded so that DePaul students could watch the event. After watching the recording, the HTC and DePaul students dissected the event and determined the strengths and weaknesses of the event. Groups then completed a recorded oral presentation.
