At DePaul, we welcome visiting students, faculty and other scholars throughout the
year and provide customized programs that fit the needs of those partners. During their
time in Chicago, we connect international partners with DePaul faculty and students
for academic enrichment and cultural activities. For visits that range from just a few
days to a few weeks, from groups of two people to twenty people, we enthusiastically
coordinate international engagement opportunities with our ten esteemed colleges on
two urban campuses, in the multicultural city of Chicago.
In previous short-term programs participants received a variety of lectures
from experienced DePaul professors on topics such as design thinking, effective
communication in international business, and international business leadership. In
addition to lectures and to ensure that students are taking advantage of their time in
the lively city of Chicago, we coordinated a visit to the Federal Reserve, one of the 12
regional reserve banks in the United States, as well as a visit to Eight Bit Studios, an
award winning design and development team known for website and app creations, and
a visit to the Chamber of Commerce, Chicago’s community of over 1,000 companies from
all major industries. While we can build on previous program models such as this, we
also create new short-term programs filled with appropriate and engaging educational
activities that address the discipline of study and meet participants’ individualized needs.
