Faculty
Criteria, procedures and schedules for Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty members are detailed in the Evaluation of Faculty section of the
Faculty Handbook.
There are two different types of evaluation that faculty undergo every year:
- Probationary review for tenure-track faculty
- All tenure-track faculty members are subject to annual probationary reviews, aimed at determining continuation or extension of contract and at assessing progress towards tenure.
- Annual Performance Appraisal for all faculty (tenured, tenure track, non tenure track):
- All full-time faculty are subject to an annual performance appraisal which may or may not result in a salary increase, depending on the university's financial situation.
The following table provides a roadmap for the various formal and informal reviews of tenure track faculty that are conducted:

Staff
Management issues and performance appraisal of staff in academic units are regulated by the
Office of Human Resources.
Academic Affairs unit leadership who have questions about staff are encouraged to contact Senior Associate Vice President Academic Administration Alyssa Kupka (x2-6585) as an initial sounding board, a troubleshooter, and a facilitator for staff management issues.
