Overview
The Associate Provost for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion requests nominations for the Provost's Award for Inclusive Engagement.
Purpose
The overall purpose of this award is to recognize an individual faculty member or group of faculty members who have demonstrated excellence in the pursuit of inclusive engagement at DePaul.
The award is announced at the University Convocation each autumn. Awardees receive a plaque and a taxable stipend of $2000 (group awardees share the stipend equally).
Eligibility
All full-time and part-time faculty at DePaul University are eligible for the award. The selection committee will bestow one award each year, but may increase the number of awards in any given year depending on the pool of nominees, and group and individual nominations. A faculty member who receives a Provost's Excellence Award for Inclusive Engagement may not be selected again in the five years immediately following.

- College Level Diversity Advocates (diversity advocates from a nominee's college must recuse themselves from voting).
Selection Criteria
The following will be used to select awardees:
- The level of impact of the nominee's contribution to the campus community.
- The relative merit of the contribution to a critical area of campus diversity, equity, or inclusion.
- The length/duration of contribution.
- The potential of the award to model exemplary practices for others.
Examples of Activities
Examples of exemplary activities include but are not limited to:
- Innovative initiatives that promote an inclusive campus climate among faculty, staff, and students at DePaul.
- The creation of engaging programming to foster discussions of equity, inclusion, and related topics.
- Excellence in building external community relationships that broaden the participation of the Chicagoland community.
- Revamping curricula to feature the scholarship of diverse voices and perspectives.
- Exemplary research and scholarship that has a significant impact on campus diversity, equity, or inclusion.
- Significant contributions to the success of campus-based outreach efforts.
- Advocating on behalf of a particular cause or group.
- Working to change policy and processes to promote greater inclusion.

by 5:00 pm on Friday, May 2, 2025.
- Nominee's CV
- At least 1, but no more than 3 letters of support
- Documentation of the achievement – an overview of the nominee(s)' accomplishments in promoting inclusive engagement at DePaul. This section should be no more than 2 pages (single-spaced).
Any DePaul faculty or staff may nominate a faculty member for this award. Self-nominations are also accepted. Nominees are encouraged to resubmit their nomination materials if they are not selected in the current year.
