Academic Administration accomplishes its aims by developing strong enterprise-wide relationships and fostering networks of business and personnel management, training and outreach. The unit proactively partners with senior and executive leadership, serving as a resource to the Provost and all of Academic Affairs, in matters of: policy development; process improvement and implementation; contract review; full-time faculty and staff hiring; space and scheduling; and audit as well as general compliance. Academic Administration further provides coordination around the university's annual planning efforts, including tuition pricing, and also provides expertise to aid in linking the strategic plans of the college/school and service units to the university's overall strategic and operational goals, mission and values.

Academic Administration strives to cultivate a collaborative academic business environment in all respects, partnering with stakeholders to bring about appropriate actions/resolutions regarding academic business matters.

Academic Affairs has a team of professionals dedicated to supporting the academic units through all stages of the faculty hiring process and retention efforts.

Full-time Staff Hiring

Staff play an essential role in achieving DePaul’s strategic mission. The hiring and retention of quality staff are the focus of a dedicated team in Academic Affairs as they assist the academic units in their efforts to engage the best individuals for each role in our academic enterprise.

Continuing and Professional Education

DePaul’s Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) provides adult students with the latest knowledge and practical insights to enhance their professional development and advance their careers. CPE utilizes the university's close connections and extensive network of instructors and business professionals in the Chicago region to allow students to learn from experienced professionals who incorporate the latest theories with established knowledge. Programs are offered in financial planning; human resources and training; management; marketing and communications; and law. Offerings run from short-term seminars to 180-hour certificate programs and are offered at all DePaul campuses as well as onsite at partner organizations. Formats include in-person, online and combination programs.

Classroom and Building Space

Supporting the space needs of DePaul’s varied academic offerings with the most efficient use of available resources is one of the primary concerns of Academic Administration. Dedicated staff work with academic units, and Facility Operations, to satisfy the needs for both office and classroom space with priority given to those functions and/or units that support the university's academic mission.
