Martha (Marty) McGivern serves as the Director of Study Abroad at DePaul University where she directs the strategy and implementation of study abroad programs across DePaul University's 10 colleges and schools. She oversees crisis and emergency response, program development, scholarship administration, sustainability initiatives, and team leadership. She has an M.A. and Ph.D. in International Education from New York University with research focusing on issues of gender and cultural learning in study abroad. She has a B.A. in English and Women's Studies from Trinity College in Hartford, CT. She teaches in Northwestern University's Master of Science in Global Health program. Martha's own study abroad experience includes doctoral research in Mexico, volunteer teaching in Ecuador, undergraduate study abroad in Argentina, as well as personal and professional travel around the world.
