Peggy Roach
Margaret (Peggy) Roach had a career that spanned over fifty years. She was a front-line civil rights activist in the 1960s and was committed to social justice and civil rights for the disadvantaged and the poor. The life of Peggy Roach demonstrates the Catholic ideals of individual self-realization in dynamic engagement with community goals and the common good of local activities related to national objectives and global thinking. These ideals are unique values of Catholic education which always understands the uniqueness and development of the individual person in relationship to the needs and well-being of diverse communities. The Peggy Roach Memorial Endowed Scholarship honors the life and legacy of a social activist.
