Relevant Experience

The poet Rumi reminds us, “You are not a drop in the ocean; you are the entire ocean in a drop.” Believing that each of us contains all the potential in the universe, Dr. Nancy Easton works to help students to realize their full potential, and to develop a level of self-acceptance that can help when encountering life's unavoidable challenges.

Dr. Easton has more than 20 years of experience in college student mental health, having previously worked at Northeastern Illinois University, Northwestern University and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has also worked in hospitals, community mental health centers, and Veterans Affairs settings. She has extensive experience with individual counseling, especially with fine and performing artists, and enjoys leading workshops on public speaking anxiety, test anxiety, mindfulness meditation, and coping with stress.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Easton's clinical interests include multicultural perspectives and LGBTQA issues, trauma, application of mindfulness meditation skills to psychotherapy, and Mental Health First Aid.

Fun Fact

Dr. Easton loves being outdoors and spends as much time as possible biking, hiking, and camping. She has a goal of seeing all the US National Parks and is almost halfway there.
