Enrique Silva (He/Him) has worked in University Counseling centers since 2015 at both small and large universities. He has worked with college students and emerging adults addressing many of the challenges they face day-to-day. Enrique grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, before attending undergraduate and graduate school in the city where he developed a familiarity, love and appreciation for all that Chicago has to offer.
Enrique’s clinical focus centers on providing care that works to find solutions while being able to treat each student as unique.
This includes providing support from a perspective that accounts for multicultural backgrounds, experiences of trauma, and differences in gender identity and sexual orientation. In addition to supporting students through individual therapy, Enrique has experience facilitating group experiences, crisis intervention, substance misuse assessment, and triage. His clinical interest includes supporting Latinx and BIPOC students, first-generation students, as well as students developing and navigating interpersonal relationships with friends and family. Students say they experience Enrique as personable, easy-going, and approachable.
Fun Fact Enrique tries to find and develop different interests throughout the year including watching movies, biking the lakefront, gardening, and exploring new food in the city.
