Fun Fact: Rick is a die-hard White Sox fan and a never-ending love for all things Disney!
Rick has more than two decades of work experience at DePaul University, with many of those years spent in the Department of Housing. In 2018, Rick expanded his responsibilities to include oversight of Dining and Student Centers on both DePaul campuses and was given the title of Associate Vice President of Student Auxiliary Services (under the Division of Student Affairs) four years later. Rick loves that there is no day that is like the next, and his priorities as an AVP often change according to what is going on around campus.
A large part of Rick's daily routine is providing support and resources to his staff as well as handling budget management, crisis management, and collaborations with campus partners. Rick has had many special memories working with his staff, but the most rewarding aspects are associated with student success. He values having the opportunity to watch incoming freshmen grow into accomplished adults who are ready to take on the world! Rick also has a passion for stopping food insecurity among college students, thus he is dedicated to this work with
The Basic Needs Hub.
Rick's academic achievements include a bachelor's degree in deafness counseling rehabilitation from Northern Illinois University and a master's degree in higher education administration from Loyola University Chicago.
