Ava Francis (she/her) recently joined DePaul as the Black Cultural Center (BCC) Coordinator. She is excited to create events and experiences that focus on Black students and students of marginalized identities by examining social issues, intersectionality, and best practices for student success. She is passionate about social justice issues pertaining to reproductive rights, sexual and domestic violence, LGBTQ+ rights, and mental health access improvement. Ava hopes to foster an environment in the BCC that centers community-building, inclusivity, and student-support.
Prior to DePaul, Ava worked for the Office for Diversity at Texas A&M University. During her four years there, she gained immense experience in facilitation, qualitative research, event planning, and student engagement.
Ava earned her BA in Political Science at Texas A&M University and her Masters of Public Service and Administration at The Bush School of Government & Public Service.
