Brent Ploughe, PhD

Brent joined the Dean of Students Office (DOS) in 2026 as an Associate Dean of Students. In this role, he oversees the management of student care, crisis response, and student conduct. He also serves as a hearing officer for DOS conduct cases, including adjudicating Formal Title IX, Sexual and Relationship Violence Prevention and Response Policy, and Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment cases.

Before joining DOS, Brent served as an Associate Director in DePaul's Department of Housing & Residence Life, where he administered the conduct process for on-campus residents, collaborated with campus partners on educational initiatives, and responded to student crisis situations. Brent’s professional interests include crisis management, conflict resolution, and strengths-based approaches to leadership and student development. He is a trained mediator through the Center for Conflict Resolution in Chicago and a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach.

Brent earned his bachelor's degree in education from the University of Evansville, his master's degree in college student personnel from Western Illinois University, and his doctoral degree from DePaul University. ​​
