Reengaging our international alumni community both in the US and abroad, has been an important goal of the Global Engagement team. Our talented, diverse and successful alumni serve as real life examples of DePaul’s mission and values, and can play an important role in representing DePaul around the globe. Alumni can serve as ambassadors for DePaul by sharing their experiences with prospective students and families, by encouraging their companies to hire DePaul interns and graduates, and by participating in DePaul programs and initiatives.
In May 2020, we held the first international alumni virtual event, which included a welcome address from President A.Gabriel Esteban, and featured a presentation by Dr. Nezih Altay, an associate professor in the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship and an internationally recognized expert on global supply chain. Dr. Altay’s talk was a very timely discussion, focused on supply chain issues during a global pandemic. Over 45 international alumni attended the Zoom event, joining from China, Taiwan, India, Malaysia and several other countries.
In October, we hosted our second virtual alumni event featuring a panel of five outstanding international alumni, discussing their journey and career path after graduating from DePaul.
