Purpose
The Global Engagement Faculty Award recognizes faculty who have made significant contributions to global engagement through teaching, research, service, or partnerships that enhance international education, cross-cultural understanding, and DePaul’s global presence. Whether through innovative study abroad programming, curriculum internationalization, multilingual education, or global collaborative research, the award honors those who strengthen DePaul’s global impact. Awardees will receive a commemorative plaque, a monetary award, and official recognition at Academic Convocation. Awardees may be invited to serve on review panels or outreach efforts.

Application Review Process and Evaluation Criteria
All eligible and completed applications will be reviewed by a selection committee that includes members of the Comprehensive Internationalization Committee (CIC) and past award recipients. The committee will use a standardized rubric to assess each application based on impact, sustained engagement, and contributions to international education, research, service, cross-cultural understanding, and quality of the application materials.
The selection committee will evaluate applications using a standardized rubric designed to assess both the depth and breadth of each applicant’s global engagement. The rubric considers six key areas: Impact on Global Education, Research and Creative Activities, Service and Partnerships, Advancing Global Competency and Cross-Cultural Understanding, Quality of Application Materials, and Sustained Engagement. Reviewers will score each category on a scale from limited to exemplary, looking for clear evidence of long-term commitment, meaningful contributions, and demonstrated outcomes in international education, research, and service. Applicants are encouraged to submit well-organized, thorough materials that clearly articulate the significance and impact of their global work.
