Global Engagement’s International Student and Scholar Services and International Student Success teams recently welcomed new staff members.

Grace Baum Mayer (she/her) joined the International Student & Scholar Services team in March as a Records Coordinator, facilitating the I-20 process for incoming international students and serving as their first point of contact within ISS. Coming from the world of international film, TV and publishing, Grace is passionate about global intellectual exchange and loves helping our students get all the paperwork in order to join our wonderful DePaul community. Grace is also a DePaul student herself, currently studying in the Creative Writing and Publishing MFA program. She also serves on the executive board of the LGBTQ+ Faculty & Staff Network and loves bringing the community together to build a sense of belonging and to advocate for the needs of LGBTQ+ employees. In her free time, Grace enjoys writing well, dancing poorly, and cuddling her two silly gray cats.

Chelsea Parr joined the International Student Success Team as the new Intake Manager/ Student Engagement Counselor. She provides leadership to the student Front Desk team and has both excitedly and with lots of trepidation, been diving into One DePaul and supporting International Student Success with pre-arrival and arrival orientation activities. Chelsea has over a decade of experience in education and working with learners from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. Her previous work experience has been in the non-profit sector, teaching and working alongside immigrants, primarily with unaccompanied children. She previously studied International Development at Calvin University and is currently looking into graduate programs to continue her studies in the field of international social services. Getting to know DePaul's international students has already been a rewarding and encouraging experience for her. In her free time, Chelsea loves to wander over to the lake, read or listen to books (recommendations are always appreciated) and go to concerts all around the city.
