Health at DePaul

At DePaul we view the topic of health from a variety of perspectives; from the neuroscience of concussion to the factors in our communities that influence health to the legal and ethical issues surrounding health. We currently offer a number of programs related to health and more are under development.  

College of Science and Health

The Pre-Health program at DePaul is for any student, in any major at DePaul, who is interested in applying to professional health programs. The Pathways Honors program offers highly motivated College of Science and Health students unique opportunities as part of our Alliance for Health Sciences with Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. Students seeking a broad preparation in health science might choose the BS in Health Science, where they will prepare for a variety of professions by combining biomedical coursework with an understanding of how societal factors impact health.

DePaul’s School of Nursing offers an RN to MS program (online) as well as the Master’s Entry to Nursing Practice (MENP) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).

DePaul’s Psychology department offers a range or coursework relevant to human health, including the MA or PhD in Clinical Psychology.

College of Computing and Digital Media

The MS in Health Informatics provides students with the skills and knowledge to implement and support IT solution in the health sector organizations.

College of Law

The Jaharis Health Law Institute offers a suite of programs to meet the diverse needs of health law students.

College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences

DePaul’s Master of Public Health program prepares dynamic public health leaders to work collaboratively with diverse communities to prioritize and investigate health concerns to achieve lasting social change, and foster health equity to promote the health and well-being of all people.

College of Education

The BS in Exercise Science allows students to learn the scientific principles that relate to human movement.

College of Communication

The MA in Health Communication allows students to apply communication theory, research and practice to the specific needs of the health care industry.
