DePaul University will be premiering the film, Coded Bias as part of its anti-racism discussions. The film explores the work of MIT Media Lab researcher, Joy Buolamwini and her discovery of the implicit bias that is built into artificial intelligence. Through her groundbreaking work, it was discovered that most facial-recognition software does not accurately identity darker-skinned faces or the faces of women. The film is being sponsored by the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity with the generous support of Jessica Sarowitz, a DePaul Board member.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR WORKSHOPS

Registration for each of the above courses can be accessed through BlueSky.

Follow these simple steps:

Sign in to BlueSky
Select the "Me" tab
Select the "Learning" tile
Enter the name of the course you wish to enroll in into the search box
Select "Enroll" on top of the page, under the title of the course
Select "Enroll" again under the "Available Offerings" title
You should now be brought to a screen that says you are successfully enrolled. If you scroll down the page, there is a button that says "Add to calendar". Please click that button so your course is added to your calendar.
