The Spirit of DePaul Award was instituted during DePaul's Centennial celebration to highlight institutional Vincentian Values and their relation to the achievement of DePaul's mission. The award also seeks to personally honor and recognize diverse members of the DePaul Community for their leadership and service in the spirit of Saint Vincent de Paul.
Award Eligibility:
Full-time staff, faculty, adjunct faculty, and emeritus faculty who are still teaching at DePaul are eligible for this award. All nominees must have worked at least 5 consecutive years at DePaul to be considered, and nominations must be submitted by someone other than the nominee. People can only receive a Spirit of DePaul Award one time.
Current faculty, staff and students are welcome to submit recommendations for consideration.
Nomination criteria:
Achievement: The nominee by their presence and works has made a significant contribution to DePaul University over a period of time (at least 5 years).
Vincentian Spirit: The nominee personally exemplifies the mission and values of DePaul University.
While there is no monetary gift to accompany the Spirit of DePaul Award, recipients will be publicly recognized at Academic Convocation and receive an engraved award.
