The Saint Vincent de Paul Award

The Saint Vincent de Paul Award, DePaul University’s highest honor, is conferred on persons exemplifying the spirit of Saint Vincent de Paul by serving God through serving the needs of humanity. Saint Vincent, the “Apostle of Charity,” founded the Congregation of the Mission (the Vincentian Fathers and Brothers) in 1625. He devoted his life to serving the poor, the sick, the imprisoned and the oppressed. The Congregation of the Mission founded DePaul University in 1898.
