There are so many ways the Global Fluency Certificate (GFC) allows students to showcase their strategic pursuit of an international education. Hear from the students themselves about what excites them the most through their videos, photos, and essays.
During the COVID19 Pandemic, students had to get creative in how to achieve their Global Experience. Here's how two students did it:
Virtual International Internship
"Even though [a virtual internship] wasn't how I expected to spend my summer, I’m so grateful for my work with Spirasi [a non-profit in Ireland]. I’ve gained so much more than just “professional experience.” I learned not to take anything for granted. I learned that the measure of success is not results and productivity, but in growth" - Bridget M, Class of 2021.
Global Learning Experience (GLE), aka Virtual Exchange
The GLE project that I participated in was part of my Scoring for Film and Video course, and our partner institution was the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). My favorite part was being able to work alongside a group of students who were part of a different culture than my own. Working with students from another country, I learned how to utilize the benefits and consequences of technology [and] to make the most out of my interactions with others. I also had to work on my communication skills to ensure that we were all on the same page, despite nobody being in the same place" - Drew L, Class of 2022.
