Muslim Faculty and Staff Affinity Group (MFSAG) at DePaul aims to unite faculty and staff who share interests, backgrounds, identities, and common bonds. MFSAG strives to create a vibrant and inclusive community for Muslim individuals and their allies at DePaul. We focus on promoting equity, justice, inclusion, and cultural understanding and firmly stand against all forms of racism and discrimination. We support Muslim faculty and staff and advocate for equity and inclusion. Through activities and events, MFSAG fosters a sense of community and cultivates a sense of belonging. Additionally, we aim to mentor students and learners, ensuring their success and integration within the university.

Community Building & Advocacy

● MFSAG creates spaces for people to gather, share experiences, and build connections around Muslim identities and interests.

● MFSAG develops and maintains a strong presence on campus through events, activities, and communication.

● MFSAG advocates for the needs and concerns of Muslim faculty, staff, and students, promoting a climate of inclusion and belonging at DePaul.

● MFSAG liaises with the University on matters specific to SWANA (South West Asian and North African), Muslim, Muslim-adjacent, Muslim heritage, and Muslim racialized faculty, staff, and students.

● MFSAG facilitates communication among faculty and staff on workplace issues concerning Muslim individuals.

● MFSAG develops and maintains relationships with the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity, Division of Mission & Ministry, and other relevant offices.

● MFSAG will stand against anti-Muslim and all forms of racism on campus and in the DePaul community.

● MFSAG will partner with similar advocacy organizations around the state and country to support the Muslim community.
