Introducing new GE team members

Kat Kozlik
This past summer, Study Abroad welcomed Kat Kozlik to the team as a new Program Manager.  Kat is a DePaul graduate, and during her time as a student at DePaul, she studied abroad at University College Cork in Ireland, was a Study Abroad Ambassador, and worked in the Study Abroad office her Senior year as a student Peer Advisor for the Program Management Team.  After graduating from DePaul, she spent two years at IES Abroad working as a Global Enrollment Management Specialist and Academic Process Specialist, managing a variety of logistical details for study abroad programs in locations across Europe and Asia.  Kat is thrilled to return to her roots at DePaul, “I feel like I've come home.  Being back on DePaul's campus and knowing I'm helping students go abroad, students whose shoes I was in once upon a time... It's truly fulfilling.”  In her Program Manager role, Kat now manages all faculty-led study abroad programs in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, College of Science and Health, School of Continuing and Professional Studies, and Career and Life Design.

Additionally, this year Global Engagement was excited to welcome two new team members to the International Student Success team.  In March, Krystal Do joined the team as the new Global Engagement Programming Coordinator, and in May, Jacob Bailey became the new Intake Manager & Student Engagement Counselor

Krystal Do

As Krystal has taken over leadership of the student team that supports the ongoing orientation programming and events, she has been actively connecting with many on-campus partners.  Krystal is a Blue Demon graduate with expertise in Marketing, and is already helping to fine tune outreach to the Global DePaul community around the university, and she has re-awakened the Global Engagement LinkedIn page. So far she has really enjoyed creating engaging events for DePaul students and coming alongside them as a mentor and coach as they work to accomplish their own professional goals. In her free time she enjoys volunteer work, exploring different cuisines, new cultures, and fashion.  She has recently started learning how to sew her own clothes.

Jacob Bailey

Jacob has taken over leadership of the Front Desk operations and student team, who warmly welcome guests to the 9300 Global Engagement Suite and respond to many student inquiries on a huge breadth of questions and concerns – many related to their immigration status and how to access the ISS advising team and resources.  He is already becoming a master-level user of One DePaul and is working actively on coordinating and supporting some pre-arrival and arrival orientation programming.  Jacob comes with experience managing a busy front desk operation in Housing at Indiana University as well as some immigration law experience that primed him for the unique configuration of this role.  So far he has really enjoyed meeting many international students and learning about their diverse backgrounds and cultures.  He has especially enjoyed helping students get to know Chicago and marching in the DePaul Pride parade.  In his free time he enjoys going to musicals and plays and 80s/90s new wave concerts and is looking forward to seeing the B52s in November.

“Both Jacob and Krystal are passionate about the Vincentian mission, and they each bring unique gifts that our team and students are already enjoying.  I can’t wait to see how our team evolves in the upcoming year together”, said Jennie Von Drehle, Director of International Student Success.
