Faculty at DePaul are encouraged to get
involved with Global Engagement in many ways. In this edition of the newsletter
we call attention to the Comprehensive
Internationalization Committee (CIC). This
is a University Committee, created by Academic Affairs, co-chaired by the
Associate Provost for Global Engagement and Online Learning and a faculty
member, currently Melissa Ockerman, College of Education. All ten Colleges and
Schools are represented on CIC, and membership of the Committee is determined
by Faculty Council through Committee on Committees (COC). You can see the
complete charge of the committee and a list of current members here. Among other
duties, CIC reviews and approves the travel portion of First Year Abroad
programs, reviews and funds Global Learning
Experience (GLE) proposals, and advises Study Abroad on
practices and procedures. If you have a keen interest in internationalization
of our university, consider serving on CIC. Calls for new members are usually
circulated by COC in late spring for the following academic year.
