Studios

Academic Media Production (AMP) runs 5 studio spaces in the Loop and Lincoln Park used for various recording types.  See samples of each recording style below, and speak with your Instructional Designer for suggestions on using each space.

Green Screen

Using our green screen studio, Chris Roberts lectures in front of changing graphics to illustrate multiple concepts in this Introduction to Hospitality lecture series. This setup allows you to use your own slides or work with our team to create graphics or scenarios that better demonstrate the concepts at hand.

Recording Booth for Screen Recording, Slides, or Software Demos

The recording booth is set up with sound panels, studio lights, and high quality camera and microphone to enable screen recordings, annotated slides, and digital whiteboard use. In the following clip, Professor Tanu Malik uses annotation over slides to deliver key points to students in a Computer Science course.

Lightboard Studio

The lightboard studio features a large internally lit sheet of architectural glass, professional studio lights, cameras, and microphones to enable instructors to lecture directly to students as they would on a whiteboard, but with the added benefit of addressing the students directly through the camera. In the following clip, Professor Tanu Malik describes a concept while working through examples on the board.

Guest Interviews or Lectures

Working with an industry professional or guest lecturer?  Our team can help conduct and capture interview footage with a variety of styles to meet the needs of your students.  Below is a small sample of some of our recent work.

Single and Multi Participant Interviews

Interviews with one or more participants allow a concept to unfold through narrative or conversation, engaging students by connecting directly with the speakers rather than slides, notes, samples, or diagrams.

On Campus and On Location

In this example, Dr. Kathryn Ibata Arens demonstrates her use of game based learning, designed in collaboration with DIGI, as AMP captures an overview of the experience.

Staff, Student, and Faculty Training Videos

This video helps to promote University Library services and spaces, moving between sweeping shots, narrative explanations, and graphic animations. Our team will film on location, create graphics, or utilize high quality b-roll to create an engaging training experience.

Scenario Based Learning

This example, designed by faculty in the English Language Academy and produced by AMP, uses a series of scripted vignettes to demonstrate office hours and discussions with the professor. Using a mixture of humor and dialogue, the video enables students to view the right and wrong way for students to approach this important learning experience.

Graphics and Animations

Our team can assist with basic animations and graphics. Using our suite of motion graphic templates, we can enhance your voice over presentations and help bring your overall content to life.
