University faculty occasionally engage with other entities or individuals to provide research or program-related services, with payment coming from sponsored sources both internally and externally. These contracts may involve vendors, students, or independent contractors. Because these contracts may require research terms and conditions, ORS is the appropriate office to review and/or negotiate these contracts.
All contracts, regardless of dollar amount, should be submitted to ORS. All contracts with an actual or estimated value of $50,000 or more or with “Special Risk” must be reviewed and approved by the OGC before execution. ORS will coordinate contracts with OGC.
