Take Your Child To Work

We are thrilled to invite you and your children to participate in the first Take Your Child to Work day on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at DePaul University!  We want to have a fun day of learning and engagement to promote work/life balance and development of community for employees related to their role as parents.  Engaging our children in the exploration of the workplace improves morale, inquisitiveness, resilience, and encourages confidence.  The program aims to encourage, inspire, and empower young children to think and dream about opportunities without limits as they get exposure to careers and professions.  We hope the day illustrates the value of education and help them discover possibilities to reach their goals.

We invite all families to participate in the morning activities, including breakfast.  Families can then either return to their workplace with their child(ren), visit our resource room, or take part in scheduled campus tours.  Families with children ages 8-14 years are invited to RSVP for structured activities from 11am to 3pm (limited to 25 families).  Lunch and a snack will be provided for the afternoon session.

For this inaugural year of the event, we ask that participation is limited to children of employees and not extended family.  The parent is responsible for supervising and accompanying the child(ren) at all times while on campus.  No university-sponsored childcare will be provided.  Registration is required and participants may need to sign a release form.  If you have multiple children participating, the family will need to attend sessions together.  Do not bring your child for the day if the child is ill.

Benefits for participation in the morning session (limited to 400 participants):
